WAUSAU – Nick Novak joined Meg Ellefson on 550AM WSAU Radio in Wausau to talk about a new WMC Foundation report that details the unfortunate demographic situation Wisconsin finds itself in.
While population grew slowly in Wisconsin from 2010 to 2020, the trend actually was negative over the three year period from 2020 to 2022. Making the situation even worse, the state’s under five and school-age populations both shrunk over the 10-year timeframe while the retiree population exploded.
Novak explains what the new data means for Wisconsin’s economy, tax base and more.
