[Milwaukee, Wisc…] A storm is brewing over the proposed Bucks arena.
Today, some local groups announced their support for the deal that would use public money to finance half the cost of a new building.
Together the four organizations — the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors, Associated General Contractors, Building Advantage Wisconsin and the Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin — say they represent the feelings of 25,000 members and $5 billion in real estate and sales.
The groups claim the arena will benefit the entire state and believe the project will generate thousands of jobs and millions in state tax revenue.
However, Nick Novak, Director of Communications at the MacIver Institute, questions the return taxpayers will get for their $400 million investment.
