WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – The business community is a bit concerned about government-mandated mask policies moving forward.
Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC) officials said they strongly encourage masks, but they’re worried about the government requiring them.
“We don’t really support government mandates in this situation; we think it creates an undue burden on businesses. We think that it can create potential bad situations between customers and employees of businesses. and ultimately there’s a lot of legal liability that goes into it as well,” Nick Novak, Vice President for Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce.
If local governments do go forward with these types of ordinances, the WMC said they want to work with businesses on the details for requirements.
